MGB Fuel pipe

#1 Post by gt67 »

In its previous life, my GT has had its main fuel line shortned by 3 inches under the car. I cannot find a braided fuel line to run from the pump to the main line as obviously, all the ones at Moss etc are now too short! Anyone got any ideas what i can do? Cheers

Use rubber fuel line, buy enough to cut a piece to fit. Most factors sell it by the foot in all of the popular sizes.
Can't see that it would need the braid as it's not a high pressure line. ;)

I'm not familiar with the car, but it depends on how you're planning on joining the pipes.

If the existing one is metal, with a fitting on the end, you could just extend it with 3 inches more metal pipe?

If you're not going to extend it & it has a fitting on the end, cut the fitting off & get new rubber pipe that fits over the end of the metal one.

If the pipe that's there is rubber, buy your new rubber hose in the same size so that you can fit a short metal piece between the two rubber ones as a joiner.
