I'll be watching that one. (the Gene Hunt one, not the other one!)

Car SOS must have C5 worried. They put Classic Car Rescue on at the same time. I knew some time ago when Series 2 Car SOS was scheduled to go out but we all had to keep it a secret so the other channels wouldn't find out and put theirs on at the same time right from the start. There are so many car restoration programmes on at the moment. We like to think Car SOS is just that bit different.

Well that 928 actually looked half decent  but restoration? A deep clean and some refurbished front seats was what I saw. OK, and they "amusingly" toshed it in the dark thanks to Bernie's utilities bill not having been paid. Relax, Phil, you have nothing to fear from these guys playing at it! :)

The Fiat in episode 2 looked more like a proper restoration job though, but why on earth did they wreck the car by painting it Magnolia when it was born - and ought to have stayed - orange? I considered having mine shrink wrapped and a motorway flyover support built around it when the club mentioned that C5 was on the hunt for a suitable car to present as the "finished" one in the show.

ok for a bit of entertainment but I agree, not much of a restoration. Amusing when the Canadian guy gets locked in the car and has to exit via the boot!

The show even had to have a warning "that some bits are staged for dramatic effect...."

Problem is that too much was staged. Bit of banter and a prank or two may be nice but wasting time on a half done paint spray? They need to watch that show of Boyd Coddingtons and get a few ideas.

Clarkson made a proper job of cooking a 928 engine and the block remains under the coffee table in the TG shed to this day!

Which episode of Star Trek was it, Rich? Any good?

I think the engine was pretty dead when they got it, it sounded pretty rough the whole way through. not as bad as the Maserati though, there are things that could teach to road rollers!
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.
