I was planning on buying a 2+2 E type as I want something I can get my lads involved with as well but I've decided to go for something more mainstream and practical so I've narrowed it down to either a 3 litre or early 4 speed 2.8i Capri, an RS2000 or a Stag.
I think the MGF will be next up for sale, if anyone wants a excellent, early MG then this could be the car for you. I'm looking for offers around £1,200 for it which a know is top ceiling for one of these but its really a very good example and you would spend far more than that reconditioning a dog for £600
Nowt wrong with a sports car that's no harder to live with than a Beetle, good choice. I've only owned one Porsche, a 1979 911 Targa, and that would go anywhere including onto the beach and - at the other end of the autumn - through snow that even my Peugeot 305 estate used to baulk at.

Thanks, I'm pretty pleased with it. These later cars have a deserved reputation for lunching their engines but the previous owner of this car was savvy enough to have a Porsche maintenance contract on it. 8,000 miles ago the intermediate shaft bearing failed smashing the engine up and Porsche were forced to fit a brand new factory unit to it, this is the only reason I bought it and all for less than the price of a good Stag or RS2000

I bet he cheered, and the dealer / Porsche UK cried buckets. I dread to think what the bill would have been otherwise.
