With it being a public holiday in the states, my fuel filler neck hasn't
moved from the post office it was dropped off at!

Hopefully it will move quickly once the holiday is over.
After a few days of tearing my tool shed,my dad's garage and the car
apart to find the lpg pipe flex to solid pipe connectors/adapters, I
found them!!

The bloody things had been placed in my computer components draw
by my mother thinking the padded envelope contained my broken old
spectacles!

So if it doesn't rain tomorrow, I will drop the fuel tank and sort the
fuel pump connection. I will also practice (sat on a stool in the dry
shed if it's raining) the inverted flare or double flare that the brake
line ends have.

Depending on my attempts on the flaring I might try it myself.

With the rain and the water not draining very well from the
inspection pit, I sat in the tool shed.

First I tried to do the double flare on some spare/waste
brake pipe with ridiculous results!
It is safe to say I will be getting my friendly mechanic Dean
to do the brake line connections.
(no pictures of my attempts too horrendous to post)

With the paint flaking on the intake manifild, I got the
battery operated drill out fitted it with a wire brush
attachment and made a start on cleaning the worst of it up.
Only for the battery to run flat half way through!

I'm thinking of having it fire engine red with the raised border
and lettering in silver. What do you think?

I got the adapter/connection sorted out ready to be fitted
along with fuel filler neck once it arrives.

Update on my fuel filler neck tracking Shipping Results:

I would have taken some pictures today of the progress made on
the serpentine belt tensioner and it's bracket.
BUT!! I dropped my Nokia camera phone into the water/oil catch
tray under the engine. The phone is now drying out on a radiator.

The weather held today so I have been using the grinder, first to
trim the part for the rear engine mount. Then to make a plate for
holding a free running pulley on the belt, which wile be between
the crank shaft pulley and the alternator. Also a slot for raising
and lowering the tensioner pulley.

I did find some rectangular box tubing which will be ideal as
adapters for holding the race radiator as it was not ment for a
neon. I will still need to make custom radiator brackets for the top
of the radiator.

I will get the older camera phone out and take a few pictures if
I'm luck and can find it!!

Well the nokia e75 survived the trial by transmission oil and water!!

The first coat of paint on the intake manifold after another go with
the wire brush attachment on a power drill this time.
Has anybody used cling film/food wrap in car parts painting before?
or is it just me?
I put cling film/foot wrap on bolts to stop them being glued in place
by the paint.

Please note I am posting this as a separate subject/thread and on my
build thread

I have recently discovered that the ecu I have off the Chrysler Voyager
has not been worked on! That means it has not had the security
protocols removed (SKIM) so that it can be used on another vehicle.

I found out when I contacted the company I had been told who had done this.
I was asking anout the remote entry option that is in the unit.
I even sent pictures to help them reference the work.

I was shocked to find that if they had done the work there would be two
stickers one as a warranty or proof that it had been worked on
and the other a reference number for them. And there isn't any
stickers.

The Company was ECU doctor, they did state that they wouldn't touch
Chrysler or Dodge ECUs. The lady who called me gave me contact details
for 2 other companies who may have done the work. ECU-Testing and
ECU-clinic. I have contacted both an they have said it wasn't them.

The garage which was doing it for me be done, by sending the ecu to
the ECU-Doctor to have some work done to it!
I can't speak to that garage anymore as the owner did a runner
leaving his employees in financial trouble (not paying taxes etc).

The Garage was called

Swift Bay
Unit 11
Ross Road
Stockton on Tees, TS18 2NH
Phone: 01642 634444
Fax: 01642 602200

And run by Gary Carthy.

And yes I paid the guy when he said it had come back done!
I have yet to use or test the ecu as the build is still in progress.
But it is looking like I will need someone to do the work on the ecu
if it hasn't been done, which means forking out even more money which
I don't have!

Sorry for the rant but I need help on this.

Just to prove to myself that my ecu hasn't been touched!
I popped out to the tool shed and picked up the voyager and a neon ecu.

first the sticker showing chrysler's details on the v6 ecu

Image

Gary said the chip had been changed inside the unit.
The casing screws one of them is too hard to move and is full of rust.

Image

I removed the 2 other screws and lifted the cover and swivelled it on the
bad screw to gain access. Below are 2 photos of the contents.

Image

Image

I don't see how they changed the chip, do you?

I the got a neon ecu out which I know hasn't been touched.

Image

So there is no way the skim chip has been touched.

I have just phoned the post office depo that has my Fuel Filler Neck.
As it is not a special delivery it will not be delivered till monday.
However there is no duty/customs tax to pay on it.

I have also emailed about a dozen companies in the UK, who claim
to decode/remove skim/remove security protocols on car ecu's.

So the question is who will even reply, and and will they work on it!
I will post their responses when they come in and state the no shows.
