Re: MGB Engine what's this hole for?
Ah! I hadn't thought of that. I've bought one of these now --> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370850251415 so I can get the temperature and pressure switch from the same place.

Re: MGB Engine what's this hole for?
Not sure where you suggest I use a 'T' piece, in the oil cooler pipe? I hadn't thought about fitting a 20psi warning lamp. I'm not that serious about rallies, I don't do Le Jog etc.

Re: MGB Engine what's this hole for?
Mmmm it was ABSOLUTELY blocked with gunk. I poked around with a piece of wire but all seemed blocked. Maybe 40 years of sediment.
Incidently, is there anywhere in the engines oil passages I can plug in a temperature sender unit? I want to fit an oil temperature gauge.
Thanks

MGB Engine what's this hole for?
Hi and thanks for looking.
I'm currently rebuilding my MGB 1800 18V engine and I've found a 'strange hole'. Does anyone know what it's for?
On the right side of the engine just below and right of the oil pressure take off and oil cooler hose there's a hole which was blanked off. I removed the ...

Vinyl Paint - Still Available?
Hi,
Back in the '70's I had a Vauxhall Viva with a beige interior. I decided black would be much better, I fitted black nylon seat covers and painted the door cards etc. with some vinyl paint which I think came from Halfords. Does anyone know if this is still available?
I now have a 1979 MG Midget ...

Re: Correct SU Needles For My Carbs?
Well, just to finish off this post I ordered 2 AAB needles (original ones were AAU) which I've now fitted. There is a deffinate improvement in throttle response though not as much as I'd hoped although I do realise there will be weeks of small tweeks to mixtures etc. before I get it right.
Thanks ...

Re: Correct SU Needles For My Carbs?
Err yes that information would be useful.
- MGB-GT Rubber bumper (this would not normally have SU carbs fitted but I swapped them)
- 1975, manufactured Sept 1974. It is one of the first R/B models with the C/B interior
- 1798cc

Re: Welding help!
Also don't forget to ensure there isn't any waxoyl inside the chassis member if you're welding a patch on the exterior of a box section.
