scimitar gte rear axle
scimitar gte rear axle
Hi does anyone know which rear axle was fitted to the scimitar gte range some one told me it was a ford ,I have been offered one to use in my 70s hot rod that I am building ( restarting after 35 year lay up)
Re: scimitar gte rear axle
Depends on which bills Reliant had paid at around the time the car was built! I believe that many use Ford diffs but some used the TR6 diff, both in axles with MGB hubs and bearings. Reliant World forum will have all of the definitive information on this.

Better still, Scimitarweb. The axles were Salisbury starting with the 4HA, with a range of final drive ratios.

That assumes that the O/P is registered there.Classic Microcars wrote:Better still, Scimitarweb. The axles were Salisbury starting with the 4HA, with a range of final drive ratios.

Registration isn't an obstacle is it? Most of the articles don't even require it.

'Fraid so. The technical info wiki requires registration.

Interesting aside (well interests me at least). I understand that Scimitar rear axles were used /homologated by DTV for use in Vauxhall Viva /Firenza /Magnum rally cars in 1970's. This then (I think ...) got a Jag spec Sailisbury LSD into the rally car.
