Before modifying your car, read this

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Before modifying your car, read this

This made me smile, There are too many badly modified piles of rubbish on the road.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

My friend bought a rare 911 RS super duper lightweight carrera ,sommat or other :? can't remember now , but a zillion quid anyway.. No crapet  , bits of string to open the doors  , cheap thin glass ,no aircon .. blah blah .. I popped my head under the back , and the snazzy exhaust tailpipes were not attatched to the actual pipes , they were fake !!

There are indeed, but thankfully, some have not made it on to the road, and judging by the rate of progress and standard of workmanship, are unlikely to do so any time soon, eh? ;)

Thanks for posting that, made me smile too :D

Lux when you have a shot immune system and it stops you from doing work on your pride
and joy because you pick up any virus/stomach bug etc going only then can you comment
on how long it has taken me to get as far as I have done!

As for bad mods, I think you might want to look here for the bad neons.

Oh I had a good couple of hours of good health on Wednesday night and popped along
to a mustang meet(9 turned up for the first ever meet) only to see a fox body mustang
with a chevy v8 and automatic replacing the v6 and manual box it came with. Although
the engine bay was extremely well done it was the gear selector inside the cab was the
biggest let down. Why? Well they had fitted a bar sticking up where the old gear shift
was and then clamped the auto selector to it above the console with the cable going
through where the cigarette light used to be! It looked like it was an after thought if
that!

Oh, I thought Luxo was on about my "big" tractor - the one I have been restoring for seven years. Or perhaps the little one? I have been working on that for eleven years. Or the Land Rover - there have been some good cock-ups on that!

Hang on though - although my immune system isn't all that great (it never has been - I have a cough and cold at the moment), I wonder how Mitsuru knew I have had a dose of the runs this week?

In short - all of that is true - but I don't take things personally!!
