Squeaky brakes
Squeaky brakes
My mgb has squealing brakes. It seems to be coming from the drums. It's fine under light braking, but if I brake with more pressure, this us when they squeal? Anyone got any ideas? Thanks everyone

Re: Squeaky brakes
Could be glazed shoes, or just dust in there.
Pop the drum off, give it a good clean out.
Check everything looks like it's in place and all present and correct
If the surface of the shoes looks shiney, a light rub over with some wet and dry paper to deglaze them.
That should do the trick

Landrovers and Welding go together like Bread and Butter. And in the wet they are about as structurally sound
Biting. It's like kissing except there's a winner

Also I'd recommend chamfering the leading edge of each shoe, and also re-assembling using copper grease (sparingly) on the metal parts that move or rub together, such as the ends of the shoes, adjusters, cams etc.
Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.
