Adapter for OBD2 reader

#1 Post by Young Farmer »

Is there an adapter to enable an OBD2 reader to be plugged into the 9 pin diagnostic socket on a 1983 Mercedes 380sl? We cannot turn the warning light for worn brakes off. A friend has an OBD2 reader and has reset the warning lights on my Mazda with it. Any ideas and where can I get one ?

I doubt it, the car pre-dates OBD2 by quite some time, it is probably something proprietary to M-B. Your best bet is to try the Mercedes forums, I'm sure someone there will have had the same problem and found a solution.

As above, it would be pointless - that model is not OBDII compliant so the scanner wouldn't work anyway. As above, I'd try a M-B forum where I'd lay money they have a routine solution to this.

Cheers :D
