internships

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Any idea on the type of firm? I know that my workplace do it for law students.

Usually the Uni have someone who helps them find the internship, don't they? Or is the person a foreign student wanting a placement in the uk?

Investigate carefully-they're generally nothing more than exploitation schemes these days- law firms in particular and a growing number of estate agents too, use intern after intern to do what is essentially donkey work which does not benefit the internee, it's basically done so they don't have to pay someone a proper wage. If she does go for it, she'll need to speak to other internees to ensure she will actually get something out of it.

Rich, how about a placement in EFL for a busy college? We're short of someone to take this sort of rôle on full time which is, in case a French person expects less, 35 Hours.
She'd be working with young adults so wouldn't need a B.ed and many of the students who'd benefit from this service are from French speaking places so it would be right up her alley if the climate weren't enough to put her off. :D

It's not up to me to see to this sort of thing so PM for the gaffer's details if interested.
