My new e petition

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

My new e petition

#1 Post by Martin Evans »

See http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/36984. Around here, we have lots of places with a 30mph speed limit and speed bumps every few yards. They need to make their minds up; is the limit 10mph or 30mph :?: So I understand, councils can put speed bumps down as they like and I feel their use is excessive. I accept there are nutters out there, who drive with no regard for anyone else (A local farmer tells me that some yobbs are now deliberately running sheep down   ) but why should all of us have to suffer because of them :?:

I know what you mean about the double standards... On the one hand we're meant to drive progressively, forward-thinking to avoid heavy acceleration/deceleration to maintain good fuel economy & reduce harmful emissions; on the other, if you do that everywhere there's bumps you're going to get a ticket for obstructing traffic and/or "without due care" despite that being the very reason you're crawling - to maintain due care of the vehicle!

I find most bumps to be wastes of tarmac, as I can either straddle them in the big car or ignore them in the hydragas cars!
…that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today.

Thanks folks.....now if we get one hundred thousand, can we expect common sense in the House of Commons :?: I heard this morning that Cardiff Council are now removing speed bumps  :!: On that basis, Blaenau Gwent should start removing them in about 2050.
