Mesrine
Did anyone else see the wholoesale demolition of some obviously very nice French classics on BBC4 over the last couple of weekends? They showed the pair of Mesrine films (biopic of Jacques Mesrine....a very bad man, not someone you'd like to upset at all) - L'instinct d'mort and L'enemmi public no1...loads of quality French classics and in the first one a very nice MGA, but by the second film...ye gods! The producers must've searched France for the very best 70's motors, and then trashed 'em....there's an absolutely mint R16 demolished, a 404, a R8...and these weren't the sort of old tat Topgear destroy, these were clearly above condition one cars. You could tell when they were crashing them, there wasn't the usual shower of rust, these cars had all been lovingly restored, wether for the film or not I don't know, but it was absolute classic carnage
!
