new mini
Re: new mini
I agree completely. How can something so huge be called a Mini? BMW have lost their heads.

Re: new mini
I suspect Mini is the brand name now and not the model name; IIRC, Mini became a brand name in BL days when it ceased being an Austin or Morris Mini . With luck, they don't own the Maxi name. Maxi on such a thing is probably worse then Mini on the "new Mini" - at least they look something like the original Minis!

Re: new mini
Really it could be called anything...it's BMW's way of getting into the FWD market without diluting their brand image.

Re: new mini
It's crazy really, when you think about the original, brilliant concept for the Mini. Maximum amount of interior space packaged into the minimum external space. The new Mini is the complete opposite! I bet it weighs twice what the original Mini did, and I wonder if it is any more fuel efficient.
Re: new mini
it really is not the prettiest car on the road.
Re: new mini
Oh I dunno, have you seen the roadster and the coupe?

Re: new mini
I was never a fan of the New MINI, but having driven in my mates Mini one, it was all bad. The interiors pretty quirky and it handel very well. However, i have to agree that the MINI is only BMW having there foot in the FWD market
However, is it me, but the new MINI model Names dont add up. The Estate car they've called the Clubman and the bigger model they've called the countrymen. IMHO shouldnt it be the other way round??
The coupe does look good, howver, the yet to be announced Mini roadster looks even better

Re: new mini
For some reason the new "Mini" has always reminded me of the Goodies sketch, where they had massive Magic Roundabout characters - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKcApI6uiSY.
