Trying to find wedding car from 25 years ago

#1 Post by stevewarbs »

It is our silver wedding anniversary and I am trying to trace the Rolls Royce we used as our wedding car.

The car is a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow reg no WGV 453 and registered 1/8/1970. DVLA are showing that it was last taxed in 2004. I have run a basic HPI check and they also still have the private plate assigned to a Red Rolls Royce so it looks to be carrying the same number. I have now found the VIN number which is SRH8769. It was originally registered OCL 860J and WGV 453 was put on the car 22/8/1984.

It appears that the last change of keeper was 9/7/2001

I have contacted the Rolls Royce Enthusiast club and the Rolls Royce Owners club in the US but they have no record of the car.

The only other information I have is that it was owned by Mr Arthur Neal of Stockton 25 years ago when we got married and he sold it around 20 years ago when he sold his pub. He possibly sold the car to a dealer in the Banbury area who had cricket links and wanted to use the car for himself, not for resale. Unfortunately Arthur died around 18 months ago.

I have written to DVLA to see if they can help.

I don't suppose any of you guys have it stashed away in the back of the garage somewhere
