Rich and Welshie you have seen the news this year?
If I waited till I had perfect weather to work out side it would be
the 12th of never to get stuff done! and they are saying on the
long range it is going to be a bad winter as it doesn't matter if
it's rain or snow we be getting hit with possible floods.

I spent yesterday afternoon in the pouring rain driven by ice cold
winds. I used a trolley jack and the winch to get the car swung
around and onto the pit.

I had to have help from my mother to operate the jump leads on
the battery terminals(behind a tree usually)

The car could do with going further back on the inspection pit by
about a yard. But just getting her there I jammed the winch cable
between the drum and frame of the winch as I didn't have a fair
lead on it.

Well I know now, and the cable will be getting replaced later as I
was unhappy with the state of it closer to the end on the drum
side(better safe than sorry!).

I have also made my mind up about ecu/pcm plan 'B'. Rather than
spend any more time under the bonnet of the car rewiring it for the
intrepid ecu, I will simply make an adapter using the plug of a spare
neon ecu, and some wiring loom ecu plugs off an old lpg kit.

Plus it will be something I can do in the warmth in a well lit room,
out of the bad weather. And it will be something to keep me
occupied!

Ecu already disembowelled, just need the socket off undamaged.
Add as the case was filled with a protective rubber it was a chew to
remove from the casing.

Thanks Rich,

My good lady wife-to-be is American, and from the time i've spent there i'd much rather live and raise a family there than in the UK. Even if I am a bit nervous about the move and possible homesickness.

Won't be till 2014 though, need to get my MGB done first! ;)

Just been told that unless you have a landrover or bigger 4x4 AND
are willing to get wet while behind the wheel of it, you ain't getting
out of the village Blackhall Colliery/Rocks. And still it rains!!!

So no work on the car

Oh and the neighbours are a little worried as the photo below was
taken at noon from the bay window looking ot to sea. There is a
dip in the field which swings round the back of their houses through
their gardens and a drain/water run off chanel & culvert run them
too!! Some have garages are built over those culverts.

Before the day light went that section of fence was under water, and
still it rains!!!!!!
