I am going to change the upper wishbone ball joints on a Jaguar E-Type at the weekend.

Any tips on this? Particularly on driving out the old ball joint and inserting the new ball joint. I thought I'd ask before I get to that bit!

Re: Jaguar front top wishbone ball joint
I don't know if it's the same as the MKII saloon but that one comes as a complete unit, cup and ball all preassembled, held by two bolts, relatively easy but if I remember there were shim packs each side setting the caster so be sure to put them back the same, they may drop out as you are loosening them.
Pack it with grease before putting load on it to ensure it's full.

Thanks.
Did both sides this morn. A simple job really. I wasn't keen on the technique to check you have the right number of shims - put shims in until it is too tight and then take one out. It is a little tedious.
The biggest problem I had was accidentally pulling out a wire that went to the alternator relay.
