Hmm, it's certainly an interesting old thing. It's looking rough just now but is a simple device whose gradual fettling and fixing would be far less stressful then carrying on with the van's interior refit, which may yet finish me off. But even the post-covid, four stones lighter version of myself (down from 17 to 13 between the 19th of March and the 8th of August) would struggle to cook, shower or sleep on a motorcycle!

A dodgy kebab, now there's a reminisce. It must be 45 to 50 years ago, I had gone to a client's place in West London, the meeting had gone well, I phoned my wife to tell that I would get a take-away on the way home. There was a rapidly expanding kebab franchise called, The Kebab Machine. Their shops were immaculate, all pristine white tiles, not somewhere you would associate with food poisoning. That kebab that I bought, laid me so low that my wife was about to call an ambulance. And squits! I tell you, I could have $h!t for England.

After several more pints of Guinness my friend introduced me to my first kebab from a salmonella wagon near the centre ... as i recall it was the food of the gods. I don't remember much after that.. the following day i drove home and the last few miles couldn't pass quickly enough ..

We used to have a dodgy burger wagon with a name plaque, "Sam'n'Ella" above it. That kebab put me off any sort take away after that. As for Sam'n'Ella..............

Got chance of a few classics, a local farmers father rented out a couple of barns in 2011 to a chap who promptly filled them with Renault 4s a few 2cvs and several other French classics. The chap then vanished and hasn't paid rent since 2015.. in total there is 110 cars under cover and a couple more outside.. im waiting for permission to have a look and get a few photos...
