breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Rich, I found the best people carrier in the world and thought it might appeal:

Aghhhh! My eyes. All links to such vehicles should come with a health warning. Sherpas are not for the feignt-hearted, old folks, wimps, cissies or anyone who has an artistic appreciation for the finer aesthetics of our motoring history. I need to lie down.

 from me too! (Relating to the Nissan). Wow! If Nissan had sold that lovely thing in the UK, Panther would never have sold a single Rio. Seriously, am I the only person who thinks the [Nissan's] styling remarkably similar to the smaller Triumph 1500 and Dolomite? Seems reason enough to buy one, especially as its wings are still available off the shelf, are bolted on and that interior, oof! Gorgeous and very nicely mended by the current keeper.
I have one reservation.. The name! Wasn't he the regular victim from the Bash Street Kids?

Taxi for John & Rich.
"Where to sir?"
"Oh just take them to the Funny farm."
"There isn't such a place around here sir."
"Well can you recommend somewhere?"
"We have a specialist breakers yard."
"Specialist?"
"Yes sir, they specialise in breaking Marinas & Sherpas."
"Do they break anything else?"
"Yes sir, Maxi's, Allegros, Talbots, all the really boring stuff."
"Perfect, take them there." "Oh, and driver, take their phones off them, we don't want breaker's yard pics on tapatalk."
"Yes sir."

Please give the taxi another call, GHT. It's now twenty past ten, you called the cab at twenty to nine and they're not here yet. I know that I'm remote but surely these modern Hackney Carriages are quicker than this.
Or is the cabbie picking up Rich first? Fair enough, but I bags first choice from the stock when we arrive at the breaker's yard.

That's because I sent the cab to you first. Last I heard the cabbie had abandoned his taxi and was walking with his fuel can to find some fuel from somewhere, but who knows where?
