Hotmail

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

I was with Plusnet as recently as 2012 but was tempted to abandon them as they took my account over when they took on V@H and didn't think to tell me before I'd called Vodafone - thinking that they still provided service - to ask them for my settings when I had to set up a new modem and router. Oh, said Vodafone at home, we sold you to Plusnet! :? In practice, this meant simply that my account, previously unrestricted, had acquired a limit of 60GB pcm. However, when I asked Plusnet why they did that, they immediately gave in and restored my Ts & Cs to the way they'd been under V@H, meaning that I am now able to use the 130+GB that I need for work.
Today I discovered that my current ISP has just sold its soul to BT too Image and (coincidentally I know, but..) the forum isn't accessible at its usual address today either. Terry, what occurs? Did you disable the .co.uk domain to remove some toenails from its cleft and forget to redirect by it afterwards?

I must admit that the only time I use a traditional (Roman, wasn't it?) mail client these days (Thunderbird or Evolution when I do), it's to import some ancient correspondence that's suddenly become necessary. Otherwise, I only ever send messages from the Gmail app that comes with Android and that redirects stuff from all of the other mailboxes in any case. The great advantage of this is that I don't have to remember where to look, which suits my fogging perfectly.

I've been swearing at telecoms systems all day so haven't looked at the forum. I'll have a nose through the status updates of our host to see what happened.

My ISP were purchased by Vodafone last year and I was expecting their service to die a death but instead they reduced my bill by £10pcm :)

I have found the problem and arranged for it to be sorted. It should be back to normal within an hour or two.
