Turbo Pickers

#1 Post by TerryG »

I am amazed nobody has mentioned this yet. It's a new discovery program I think they are on episode 5 now. It's a bit like wheeler dealers but without mike brewer and with more realistic budgets and labour costs factored in.
They have done a Citroen H van, Jag XJS, Polo bread van, Porsche 924, Citroen CX and some others plus they do some trading in automotive bits and pieces which are usually interesting.

I've searched couchtuner.eu and kickass.so but can't find it. :(
Looks like I need an ugly great dish in the garden after all! Damn you, Terry and your tempting sounding car-related telly recommendations. ;)

I agree there is a worrying shortage of downloadable episodes. I have them all on my Sky+ with all of Car SOS and Wheeler dealers

£80 for that pedal car seems fair, but I'm thinking this is more Drew Pritchard's territory than Fuzz and Phil's. Still, any port in a storm and at least Bernie Fineman isn't part of the show, which is a bonus.

That's probably true but rescuing a CX from being crushed and visiting a car hoarder with a church full of Citroens and spares was definitely more wheeler dealers than American pickers.
Sort of a mix between the two but at least the "picking" is car related.

OK, but Drew has bought a black oval bug, a S1 Landy, a Minor ragtop and a 2CV during the last couple of series of Salvage Hunter. He's not all about the old filing cabinets and anglepoise lamps. And we got to see the garage that sold the bug repairing its stripped driveshaft and brake drum splines by the roadside, which was entertaining. 8-)

I saw the minor one but not the others. He always seems to be climbing through an aircraft hanger or old barn finding those green industrial lights whenever I see that. mind you I only found turbo pickers by accident as from the program name I was ignoring it as another program where yanks drive around trying to persuade people to let them look in their buildings.
