antiques

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

We really need to know what the antique items are. If it's your computer, then does it have its own shovel and has the boiler been certified this year? :P

He'd do better buying in France and selling here ;) . An average ride around the typical selection of stalls at Tynemouth Metro Station on a weekend suggests that far more is coming in from France than leaving for there. I buy loads of Radialva and other French radio sets from French and Belgian eBayists and the Metro Station crowds go mad for the stuff, but try selling UK sets of the same period to the French and they look at you completely gone out. It's not just electricals, French toys are big just now too as are French militaria, French clocks, French cast iron baths and French brown furniture which somehow manages to be less brown than our home grown equivalent.

Whenever I see the words "personal collection" followed by a :D , I can't help but visualise Prince Harry in that fancy dress costume or hear in my head the delightful strains of "Springtime for Hitler"..

Surely this isn't just me?
