A little help with my dads Vauhall tickford dx14

#1 Post by Graboom »

Hello,

I have joined this forum in hope that I can get Some Advice,

My Father owns a 1936 Vauxhall tickford dx14, and he wishes to sell it but in the last two years he has had no success. Firstly as the car itself is so rare he does not know what is the correct price to advertise for or where he could get evaluated, then the next part he does not know is where he should advertise so that people that look out for this sort of motor will see.

The first pic is taken from a BBC program it was used in called 'Ain't misbehaving' with Robson/Jerome - The car runs fine and was used in a wedding a couple of months back.

Sorry to crash your forum in such a way, just looking for some advise and hoping your the guys/girls to help,

Thanks in advance for any help,
Graham

Hi Graham,

Welcome to the forum.

It might be that your Dad's Vauxhall is a bit old for a lot the chaps here. Most of the chat on this site is about 50's cars and later. However, I might be wrong and you might be lucky!

There is another forum that might be more help to you as there are a lot of chaps there with pre-War and 1940's cars.

It's called the "OLD CLASSIC CAR FORUM" and can be found by following the link below.

http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/forum/ph ... 0c645fd018

When you get there, click on the link "How to register" It might take the admin chap a couple of days to get back to you, but the Forum is worth it if you have an interes in cars of this or any era.

Good luck with selling the car. It looks a Beauty. Wish I had some spare cash!
Mike.

Has he tried one of the specialist Classic Car Auctioneers. Cars there seem to fetch more than they do on eBay or the dealers. Nice car, there's a similar one round here that I often see at shows.
