Messerscmitt restoration

This is a customers Messerscmitt that he is restoring.I have done the bodywork for him and he will be doing everything else.

Painted the car grey and will mask up certain parts as they are grey and blue.

Nice to see you're still doing fine work - I was thinking about the 'Tina the other day and hoping it would be back soon!

I remember the Messerscmitt (my selling checker reckons that should be Hammersmith!) as an "interesting" car in my youth; though they were quite rare up here (the traditional bubble cars were more popular and the Bond/Reliants were almost common). I suppose the aircraft cockpit captured my imagination, even if it was German!

I look forward to seeing the finished paint job - I suspect that it will be much better than the original - I don't remember them as having a high gloss finish when they were around.

Metempsychosis is top of the alternative spellings list when I try to sneak the name "Messerschmitt" past the gadget in T9 mode. I've now added the name of the famous German aircraft and tiny, mad car manufacturer to my user word list, which suggests that I've never written it before. ..

I love the way these look, sound and that they have a happy face! I was offered a pillion ride (well come on, it is!) in the four wheeled variety at a microcar show a couple of years ago but alas, the pilot couldn't get me loaded without the aid of hydraulic equipment that would probably have burst the car, so had to go without me.
