I didn't know there was a v8 version of the DS ;)

All cars with a v8 infect the driver with leadfootitis. Even my RR gets driven like it's a TVR to make the glorious rover v8 noise for as much of the time as possible. (assuming it isn't on the drive way with half the floor removed as it is currently)
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

That's called V8-itis - the infection of power caused by a burbling V8 and enough torque to pull The Shard down. Symptoms are a big, stupid grin, black smoke emanating from the rear and trembling although this sometimes disappears in advanced stages to be replaced by an even bigger grin!

£1800 plus some new springs, wheels and tyres and you have a very usable retro hot hatch.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

If you go for a Jag XJ40 or any of the XJs, post back for any advice, I had one for over 10 years, brilliant car, WAY more reliable than most would have you believe, and actually pretty cheap to run, especially if you don't mind getting the (very few) spares you'll need from a scrappy.
Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.
