Daimler welding/mechanic nr Redhill, Surrey?

#1 Post by themajor7 »

Hello forumers, I'm a newbie to truly 'classic' world, and indeed this forum, and was hoping to make some contacts nearby who could help in the (hopefully) light restoration of my 1972 Daimler Sovereign 4.2.

It's going to be arriving on a trailer soon, and I would like to have the underside, sills, boot, bulk head etc checked over as I believe there will be some welding required to get it through it's MOT. Saying that, I don't want to quickly bodge the job just to get it through; I would like to start as I mean to go on to get her suitably neat, as every Jag and Daimler deserves to be!

Therefore, if anybody does, or knows of anybody who does welding nearby to Redhill in Surrey, and ideally also someone who knows the mechanics of these cars for other ongoing work then it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks for reading.

Moved to "Technical Queries".

Hope you get it sorted, I live near Redhill but don't know any welders as I do my own welding and other work. Welcome to the forum by the way!

Cheers :D

Thank you Luxobarge!

It's exciting, if a little daunting as I've probably bitten off more than I can chew. However, I'm determined to get the car looking and driving great, and not have it up for sale in 6 months as a failed project...!

Hi Themajor7

Like you I'm new to the forum and soon to start a restoration on a Daimler 250 V8. I live near leatherhead which isn't too from you, our local garage use a mobile welder to do there MOT welding work. If you would like me like me to get contact details let me know.
