Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

I agree, apply for the lock up next to poppys and get working on the minor.

It IS very tempting, and working on Poppy has definitely given me the "Bug"! But a full resto sounds a bit too heroic.
I have My late Mum's Daewoo that needs to be got back on the road for my eldest when we can afford the insurance. (Only a service...I hope!) and Mrs FB might notice another car on the drive...but if I could convince my youngest that it would make a great 1st car...she turned 16 yesterday so I would have at least 18 months...and convince Mrs FB that despite not having any modern safety devices, it would make an Ideal 1st car........Hmmmmm!

I think anyone could be persuaded to sell if a fatbloke went skipping down the road to their abode!
Glad all is well - perhaps the heater should be the first job - I suspect the new front seats might suffer if you fit them before removing the heater!!

I think it will probably have more rust hiding in it that you thinkFatbloke wrote: There is also a very faded and sad looking Morris Minor that is sat on an old chaps drive down the road. it doesn't look too rusty..what do you think?...

Congratulations - once again you made me laugh out loud at the thought of you skipping down the street - and as well as keep us entertained, you also found time to get Poppy back on the road

If my experince of minors is anything to go by one thing they do very well is rust (take a look at my thread), on the plus side insurance is about a quarter of the cost of a modern for a 17 year old through the club scheme.
My daughter is 17 in september, we plan to let her use one of my company cars and my wife has bought an mk1 mx5 to use instead for the same amount our niece paid to insure a ka.

My Plan is to do the heater while the seats are out as I believe under dash access would be a bit easier and less likely to require the intervention of the emergency services.tractorman wrote: perhaps the heater should be the first job - I suspect the new front seats might suffer if you fit them before removing the heater!!
The Minor has been very firmly ruled out by Mrs FB. She thinks that my not knowing one end of a welder from the other might be a bit of a handicap...and the old chap won't sell! Says his son is planning to get it back on the road!
