Re: Nitrile / Latex Gloves
Park Tools do very good disposable gloves. They are the only ones I have ever used, that don't fall to bits in paraffin.

Gloves drive me mad. They never stay on or bits get trapped between parts. I do it in the flesh then wash my hands with Fairy Liquid, kiln dried sand and hot water. That gets all the crap off including dirty oil black grease and paint. My hands are as smooth as a baby's bum. Sorry I missed out crocodile.

Cheap baby lotion or baby oil will dissolve a lot of oily crap, and won't dry your skin out.
Rub it in, then rinse off with a cheap soap or handwash

Landrovers and Welding go together like Bread and Butter. And in the wet they are about as structurally sound

Biological washing liquid is a brilliant hand cleaner.

Re: Nitrile / Latex Gloves
I've only used gloves for the last eight or ten years and yes, they can be a real pain. OTOH, I don't have to worry about waste oil causing nasty problems (though the oil usually ends up near my elbows!) or sweaty hands messing up a paint finish - or blue hands after using coloured stuff to polish the car. Mind you, that was worse when I had a red car and the polish always stuck around my finger nails (that's my story...)
Considering some of the chemicals I used to use on the farms (and when I was on student placement, making detergents), my hands haven't suffered too much. There again, not doing so much physical work has made them rather too soft - and gloves are partly to blame. I would hate to try and move "little" hay bales around now!

Re: Nitrile / Latex Gloves
What a coincidence. I just joined the forum and find this very useful topic. Looking through my collection of PC's I found a product test in the August 1999 issue. None of the recommended or best buy brands appear to exist now. Because I live in Zimbabwe this presented me with a problem especially as no one stocks Nitrile gloves here. I think I will try Edd China's gloves. Years of working on old cars have left me with skin problems so I have to work with gloves. Thanks guys.

I use these .O.k ,they're a bit thicker but you can still feel with them . Only use 11-800 Ansell hyflex , similar looking fake ones are not as good . I think they're for electronic work really, but i wear them for any job that's messy . Cellulose does melt the nitrile though.. Washable 2 or three times , a dozen at a time in the washing mahine! Buy packs of 12 pairs or more for best prices
I like them skin tight ... i buy 7's ..
size 8 is kinda normal , 9 would be big hands and 10's and over are for shovels . http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12x-pair-ANSE ... _721wt_958
