This, but please, no lengthy pages of shots that show endless millions of same-looking domestic appliances from the other show that's happening there . And if anyone can get a nice close up of Rachel Riley's personal attributes from the edge of the Gadget Show stage, that would also be appreciated.

Proper 70's car in a 70's colour
Maybe not a bad thing its been withdrawn from auction as if its as nice as it looks I would have to have it!
Would anyone know why its been pulled and what has happened to it?

Large queue at Hall 1 nearest the entrance so I went up to Hall 2 where there were a few folk sitting around so I went over to wait by the doors and within a few minutes they pulled them open and we were in - I was actually second to get into the show - but that was at 9.15 a full 15 minutes early which took a lot of the traders by surprise as they were having a quick look around themselves and weren't at their stands.
Lots to see and some fascinating 'Barn Finds' as well as superb restorations. Watch some of the demos from Leeds College staff - metal forming, lead loading and panel repairs - came away full of enthusiasm and inspiration then realised that the remains of my Austin 1100 really is a pile of cr*p and I'll never get the job started. Bought a few more tools (as usual) and met the Grumpy Northerner.
Show was advertised as being open to 6.30 but some traders were closing early as the numbers dropped quite a bit after 5.00pm but for me that's when I started spending as I didn't want to carry a load of heavy stuff around all day.
Went on Saturday as there was a show in Pembrey on Sunday. We have this sussed now . We leave early(5.30) and have breakfast in the Toby carvery before going to the show and then back to the Toby on the way home so we miss all the traffic both ends of the day. Got home in time to have a pint as well.
For a first attempt at putting on a restoration show I think it was an unqualified success. The traders area was bigger than I thought to see and well done to those that that came, I hope it was worth while for you.
I'm not a great spit and polisher but like to see restorations done properly and there were a lot of impressive jobs on show.
I think that Silverstone auctions lost out by not allowing show goers to look around their entries without paying £10. If they had the policy of looking free and if you want to bid you have to buy a catalogue would possibly have been better. All in all though a thoroughly enjoyable day even though I spent too much.
Well - what a show - certainly gave something for everybody to talk about - although very hard work from my own prospective - but that is more down to the fact that my day job currently accounts for 99.9% of my waking hours and I have very limited time available for anything else - so attached below are the images from the before / during & after events of the show

1951 Jowett Bradford Van - has found - I wanted to get the front panels bolted on so that the van appeared complete at the show

Always easy with bolt on panels - I also wired the lamps so that the sidelights could be left on through the show via a battery charger

The blue haze under the van is a coloured lamp - to give the engine bay a bit of a haunted feel.

Next was the early Javelin shell and engine display stand - the tarp cover over everything was like towing a hot air balloon up the M40 !! and no matter how much I tied it down / strapped it up - it made little difference - still it kept everyone guessing as to what was on the trailer

Once off the trailer we removed the transit axles and placed the shell to the chassis tilter - CJ autos who supplied the tilter 3 years ago had their stand immediately next door to us - so they had a perfect demonstration of the kit that they supplied without the need to bring it to the show.

I panelled the shell up at the show (with exception of the rear end) Plenty of panel beating at various intervals throughout the show brought plenty of onlookers to the stand.

Display cabinets were filled with recent awards that have been won by the club along with a selection of parts that are available from the clubs spares stock

Whilst I was busy panelling the bodyshell - Jack aided by several other members went about re-assembling the grille for the Javelin - a some what time consuming and complex procedure

So was it worth the effort - several late nights, much juggling of time between the day jobs, several hundred miles of trailer towing and having to give up a couple of days holiday to make it happen

Well has you see in the images we had no end of interest, has I write I am pretty confident that we also signed a couple of new members whilst clearly demonstrating the benefits of club supported restoration along with raising the clubs profile. To go on from this and win 'Stand of the Show' in the face of strong competition from much larger clubs left us somewhat speechless (I know it does not happen often) The show organisers have already requested our presence for the 2015 show and we are already working on ideas for it !!
