Rover P6 2.2 manual not starting
Re: Rover P6 2.2 manual not starting
Can you not take the contacts off the old coil and fit them to the screwposts on the new one? Just a quick bit of filing will get the rivets out of the way of the original terminals and they'll connect directly to the existing loom.

Try changing the spark plugs my 2200 goes through them at an alarming rate, if I take em out and stick em in the oven they are ok again

More progress
Turns out the non-starting was duff petrol. I had some more welding done and the guy that did it gapped my new points as I hadn't a socket big enough to turn the crank pulley. He got the car going with a can of petrol gravity fed from a can. I haven't had time to get back to it yet but I have to do a little more welding myself. Just some roof rails that were a bit rotten. Will be glad to start reassembling it.
