Quick thought, have you thought about wrapping the dashpots in exhaust heat wrap or the reflective heat wrap that you use for starter cables?
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

another option is to plumb in a return line(T at the carb with something like a 1mm a restrictor in the return branch) this keep cool fuel circulating around the system, usually you would use a electric pump to feed the fuel.
