Kev - This could be an easier option than you attempting to hire / source / collect / return a hired transporter - I have moved all sorts of stuff around the country using this site (cars / engines / body panels / furniture / work kit etc)

Thanks for the reply grumps, will certainly look into that.
My problem comes in a few areas, access to where it is stored is an issue as is the fact thats its been dry stored since 1989. Im confident i could get it running but id much prefer to get it back home so i can do some thorough pre start checks etc.
i may consider towing although being an auto im not sure how that would work either?

If it's an auto, then the driven wheels need to be off the ground.

Last resort towing tho
Re: car transporter wrexham / chester area needed
That would work, yes. You just mustn't have the auto box turning without the engine running, as there would be no oil pressure.kevin wrote:If i do tow it id prefer to take the prop off?Luxobarge wrote:If it's an auto, then the driven wheels need to be off the ground.

How far is it to go? Handbooks usually say you can do X miles below 30mph without having to suspend tow or remove prop, although those are the best options.
If you're on Facebook, see if there's a local cars for sale group, quite often you'll see adverts to buy scrap cars, and these guys will often do collections etc.

All the previous info about towing autos isn't the only thing that will cause you problems if you tow it. Anything you tow with the wheels in contact with the road needs to be taxed & tested.kevin wrote: My problem comes in a few areas, access to where it is stored is an issue as is the fact thats its been dry stored since 1989.
