What classic vehicles have you seen?
Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
A black MGB GT (chrome bumper) when on the way home the day before yesterday (Near Shotton North Wales) - I flashed him and got an odd look before I realised I wasnt in my own BGT but in my Peugeot 106 haha.
I also saw an old school (well late 70s) 911 Porsche in dayglo green on the Wirral, it actually looked fantastic. One of our consultants has one in dark green but this cheeky number was quite flashy and didnt sport the colour awkwardly either, it sort of suited it if that makes sense.

excluding meets where of course we see dozens.. see odd one every now and again. vauxhaull viva , morris minor lives 3 miles away. singer estate of some sort round corner and a stag. Not sure I can claim the 1916 roller that went past my house as I know the guy and he was on way back form a classic car monthly meet.

Lots more than shown below, at the http://www.gwsr.com/ classic vehicle day on Sunday. Entry was free and you got a complimentary ticket for a round trip on the line (About 25 miles in all). The weather wasn't as bad, as is often the case in f***ing June; that is to say it crapped a little around lunchtime
but the roads were dry by the time I left. Steak and Ale pie, in the nearby Pheasant Inn, was very nice
There is another event in September but I am committed elsewhere. However I'd certainly attend one of these events again
Perhaps overshadowed, by the GWR, is the http://www.toddington-narrow-gauge.co.uk/ and one of their engines is pictured. A round trip is only £3 and takes about twenty minutes.

Some lovelies there, Martin. I couldn't choose between the (Porcelain Green?) Riley one point five and the Almond Green with white roof Cooper. Then there's that lovely gold Javelin and the locomotives. Those are sweet old things. Best bit though; the show appears to have been held completely on hard standing, no wet grass which means I'd have been able to see everything easily. I wish more show organisers would do that.

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
Well spotted; they use the regular car park (With the likelihood of bad weather and all the people milling around, some with sticks or in wheelchairs or prams, it makes a lot of sense) and the regular car park becomes an adjoining field for the day . I was struck on Sunday, that the car park was something of a time warp, except that you would never really have had such variety, in car ages, at any given time and maybe any relatively older ones wouldn't have been in such good condtion. Infact, when I first visited the GWR, I joined up with the MG Car Club's MGC register for the day and the GWR put us in the aforementioned field. Towards the far end is a black Midget 1500

As to the Jowett, lovely interior I think
Of course Mr Palmer did a rather nice MG saloon for BMC

Pity the window was closed

Hi Alan,
Yes I do like! Especially the bike, that's an LE Velocette IIRC, water-cooled and very quiet for its day, beloved of Police patrols so they didn't disturb folk at night. I'd have that in a heartbeat if I could....
Cheers!

Hi Rick, nice to catch up with you mate.
Yes I believe they were nick named "noddy bikes" not sure why though
I found this one after a walk in the countryside after a rather nice pub meal
, my Brother is trying to track down the owner with a view to buying, though he feels it is probably too far gone (even for him) to resuscitate.....but stranger things have happened of course.
