It was probably your fault
As a matter of interest, were they mechanical or body jobs; my feeling is that their mechanical work lets them down most.

It was lots of years ago now so they may have improved but it was a mix of body and mechanical issues. The MMOC recommends them, nobody else does :S

i enjoyed changing my alternator more than driving the car... does this make me odd?
i do like driving it but there is just something about looking at a car & thinking i did that....

How did you park it if it doesn't have any front wheels?

It all depends on the nature of the restoration and driving pleasure to be had. My 1990 XJ40 was great because almost every job I did on it was cheap to do, just requiring a bit of my time and knowledge AND it was a lovely car to drive.
