I have just had a read through and it appears you may get an age related plate if:

A vehicle is a vehicle manufactured using parts of a registered vehicle if :
(a) it is constructed or assembled by a person carrying on a business in the course of which motor vehicles are normally constructed or assembled,
(b) it is equipped with an engine which has previously been used as the engine of another vehicle which had been registered under the 1994 Act or any earlier Act providing for the licensing and registration of mechanically propelled vehicles, and
(c) it is equipped with one or more of the following components taken from the same vehicle as the engine :
(i) chassis,
(ii) body,
(iii) suspension,
(iv) an axle,
(v) transmission, or
(vi) steering assembly.

from here: http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/repository/G ... Scheme.pdf
followed by reading this: https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-registration ... d-rebuilds

They only issue a Q if you are not able to prove when the vehicle was manufactured so if you have a registered business making cars you should be able to get a 13 plate or register it on a "cherished registration"
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Looking at the Sammio kits, no iva required for those, they retain the donor i.d.- the clever part is that the tubular body sub frame is bolted to the chassis, this is the loophole, it's on an original chassis when vosa look and hence just a rebodied original car.............there's nothing to stop the whole lot being welded up afterwards.
