Winch recommendations

#1 Post by Adam43 »

A snapped cable on the current mechanical winch yesterday means that a replacement is needed. Why just replace the cable when there seems to be decent electrical winches out there for £100 or so.

I'm looking at the Warrior (great name) C3500A. Does anyone have any experience of this or sister models?
Or any other recommendations?

Thanks.

Hi there

having build and competed with landrovers for many years there has been some great improvements in winches.

It is a case of you get what you pay for. I don't know what you intended use is and what sort of loads you plan to put on it etc.

might be able to advise if you let us know that info

cheers

It is to winch a car on to a trailer. To be used to transport an MGB around the country. Relatively infrequently, about a dozen times a year. So it isn't going to get punished! I do want flexibility for the odd heavier car, which is why I looked at the 3500 version of the Warrior.

The 'get what you pay for ' thing is why I ask £100 seems like a bargain. As I can use a manually winch there is no real reason to spend a fortune. Although the remote control would be useful for one person to load the car.

Thanks.
