Enamel Paint

Has anyone ever used THIS STUFF

I'm looking for a gloss black enamel suitable for my rostyle wheels and wondered if this would be suitable.

It would probably be better to get something that's activated. That way it will harden and be road ready in less time. The air dry stuff is great for fences and doors but may not work great on wheels.

The link wouldn't load for me, but I guess from the site address it was trying to load, it's an agricultural-type of paint. The problem may not be drying time but adhesion (I guess the car is taking a while to get on the road!). Try your local panel factors, they'll probably have something more suitable that might even have some form of "self etch priming" and corrosion resistance built in.

I'm not against synthetic (enamel) paints - both tractors have been done with it - but it takes time to harden properly and is only shiny on the surface - if you rub it back, you;ll get matt paint where celly will still shine.

Although it goes without saying, the well known hammered-finish stuff that Halfords and DIY stores sell is - IMHO - useless.

I remember the series 'an mg is reborn' where he used coach enamel for the black sections of rostyles but coach enamel isn't cheap, I was hoping this stuff was similar. Interestingly when I read up about coach enamel one of the properties listed is that it is slow drying and therefore forgiving allowing touch ups etc without affecting the finish.

Years back I owned a Humber Sceptre MK3 and used Humbrol gloss black to tidy up my wheel trims,it worked a treat.

Would it not be better to see if your wheels can be powder coated instead?
