Does anyone know if it is still possible to but "period" lucas batteries from the 70's?
And does it matter what CCA rated battery I get, can it be too high??

You can fit as larger battery as you like. The car will only draw what it needs
The way I picked the new battery for my morris minor was to measure the space, then go in to Halfords and get the largest one that would fit.

Re: Battery questions
I had two 6V for the V8, that had extra plates in them, to give them a bit more punch. They came from http://www.lincon.co.uk/ and so far I'd say they are the best batteries the car had had since I have known it (1985 - date).
