Sexual orientation and Classics,what's......

.....it got to do with the Classic Car scene? Can someone please educate me on this,as I was reading a Classic Car publication and amongst all Events that recently happened,there's a gay Classic Car club.
Why does a persons orientation needed to be stated?
I'm not against gay people,what they do in private is none of my business. What I like about the Classic Car scene,is there are no divisions amongst ourselves. Outside the Classic Car scene there is conflict in all orientations,be it religious,be it political and be it sexual. Now that there's such club as said,can I create a heterosexual Classic Car club? Or a Christian Classic Car club? It wouldn't interest me to do so,for one,religion is harmful to society,that's why I deem myself as an Humanist.

That club has been going for at least 7 years, I don't understand how to tell whether any car of mine is gay but if there's a gay car in my possession, then that's fine as long as the radio can pick up something other than John Barrowboy showtunes.

Being cynical, I can't help wondering if it's just an introduction service for people of that particular inclination.

I can only assume that this is for the Louie Spence style gay men who feel it necessary to advertise the fact. I am by no means anti-gay, infact my best friend of some 30+ years is gay but it makes him no different to how I have always known him and I can't imagine him needing to join a specific club.

Some time long ago on another forum, someone posted a suggestion that a "Gay Tractor Club" should be formed. I think the response was similar to the previous posts - mine was along the lines that, if I wanted help with my tractor, I wouldn't consider the "assistants'" sexual preferences (and the tractors don't seem to mind!).

However, I can understand the appeal for such a club: a club is also a social place (as are many forums) where the discussions can move well away from cars or whatever to all sorts of areas. Some people may feel they can't discuss certain issues with people of a different sexual preference; or feel uncomfortable when others are discussing "matters female"! It suspect it would be the same if I was interested in flower arranging and joined a group of women!

Going a bit off the point but if they allow same sex marriages, how will it work When you have Mr Jones and Miss Smith getting married, they become Mr and Mrs Jones but...... . It's all a bit King Canute to me and no matter how much you say abnormal (And I am not being judgemental in my use of this word) is normal, it isn't, so why not just accept it

Hmm, Mitsuru used similar "logic" and when I challenged him, both posts vanished. Here's hoping the same happens this time.

Can you wonder that some gay people find there to be a need for a targeted car forum when mainstream ones contain comments that seek to highlight difference when in reality all that's relevant is the common, in this case a fondness for pieces of ancient machinery?
And as for the comparison with a mythological supreme being-based classic car group; didn't Moses drive a Triumph?

I have often wondered the same thing myself. I don't think I've ever owned a gay car, but I do have to admit that I had my doubts about whether the chassis on my old Triumph Spitfire was straight.

It matters not what sexual orientation a person is, all it's doing is offering an extra slant to just being a car club, and guess what, and some people may not believe it, you don't have to be gay to be a member of the club either!

I think a man driving new mini fits both.
