ford galaxy

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Taking the under tray off is only a few screws. If you needed a mechanic to do that for you, you should hang up your tools in shame! ;)

At least you have narrowed it down. Are you OK doing the timing belt yourself or are you going to have to get a garage to do it for you?

Is the pump driven by the cam belt on this? If so, I'd get that done PDQ, because if the water pump lets go in a big way it'll take the belt with it, and that leads to a lot of paperwork as you know.....

By the same token if changing the pump you should really do the belt and tensioner at the same time too of course.

That's if it's driven by the belt, if it isn't then this post is entirely without use, relevance or meaning.

Cheers! :D

Was it changed for a real ford (or Peugeot) one or one of the cheapos that are floating about on ebay? I haven't had the greatest of luck with cheap parts on that engine :S

Sorry, didn't remember you had a 2004. 2005 is the change over year which gives you the Ford Duratorq engine (Ford / Citroen / Peugeot lump http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratorq_engine)
