Hi,

Standard rebore sizes for a 1275 are 20 thou = 1293cc, 40 thou = 1312cc, 60 thou = 1330cc.

My engine is 40 thou over, so strictly speaking it's 1312cc.

Cheers,
Brett.

Cool :) It has been a long time since I have done any performance work to an a-series. It's nice to see a quick mini that has one rather than a Honda or motorbike engine!

Spent the afternoon getting soaked washing a wheelbarrow full of mud and sludge off the bottom of my Series III Landy, not a nice experience! :D

Got fuel all over the driveway removing the fuel filter a previous owner hid up under the petrol tank on my Beetle. It was well and truly clogged. I didn't know it was there, it had a filter in the engine bay when I bought it. Also did some welding on DAV the Rally Van.

Hi all.

The MG awakens!

A big moment has just happened today at midday the 1st Jan 2013.
I wired up a temporary ign switch on the bulkhead also an oil pressure light, turned it over till oil pressure was up.
Wired up the ign and checked for a spark on turnover.
As there is no radiator or exhaust, when it starts I wont run it for long.
Primed the fuel system, turned the tickover screws up a bit, wedged the choke 1/2 open, turned the ign on,pressed the starter switch and crossed my fingers.
AND WAHAY!!!
Hope the links work!!
1st start.

Not today but recently - the brake fade persisted so I had to go a little deeper and found that one of the Master cylinders (rear brakes) was letting air pass the seal and it was getting into the fluid so that even on a small run the back brakes faded. One Tilton master cylinder later and setting of the balance bar and now I have a full set of brakes again. I feel a lot safer driving it around now.
