Re: transit cambelt
Year and engine type and size would help mate, they've been making Transits a long time!....
Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.
Re: transit cambelt
ah yes it might help! im still in shock.. its a 96 2.5 diesel non turbo.
Re: transit cambelt
If nobody here has done it, Matt on the mmoc forum used to work on transits for his day job and seems to know everything there is to know about working on their engines.

I've not done one, but I did have one let go on my 6 month old Transit doing 70, it made a mess, but Ford had to pick up the bill!

Re: transit cambelt
Ay up!
You'll need the appropriate timing kit. Watch out, the crank locking pin is in the flywheel! I'd lock the cam and injection pump first because there's a series of holes drilled in the flywheel and the locking pin hole is between two of these!
If you remove the rad first, then you've plenty of room to work. While you're at it, you may as well change the coolant....

If in doubt, give it a clout!
