Rust remover?

#1 Post by Ash »

Hi all.
I need to remove some rust in a box section I am reparing and dont want to go to the expense of having the body shell dipped. A sand blaster will stuggle to get into the area so I wondered if anyone could recommend a good rust remover? I was thinking maybe Bilt Hambers Deox Gel? I dont want a rust converter though.
Any suggestions chaps?

The deox gel does work well on surface rust, but if it's thick or heavily pitted you'd need to attack it with a wire brush or something similar first. Also, after it's done it's job the deox needs to be wiped off with a wet cloth - so you'll need some access to the box section to get the gel off again.

ok thanks for that. I have bought some deox gel and tried it out but will need multiple applications to get rid of all of the rust. The car by the way is an old Sunbeam but no picures at moment.
