ive been running a 96 turbo daily iveco tipper & for a while when its warm it wont start. i turn the key & nothing.... until i wiggle the gear stick, is there an isolator on the selector mechanism or is the starter giving up the ghost or the truck is just plain kinky

hi yes it probably does have a safety switch on the gear box ,i saw a similar problem with a renault 7.5 t truck when broken gear linkage left it stuck in gear in the middle of my gate way and i had to bridge the switch to start it , the switch on this one was screwed into the gearbox where the gear change entered and looked like a reverse lamp switch
