Yes yes, but the colour was remarkably similar.
"Peak Practice" was another show whose male leads ran about in classics; Kevin Whately in a rare, 4-door version of something that has slipped my mind for the moment and the Scouse fella in that show drove a red Volvo 122S.

Hmm, it could have been one of those and I'd accept that if you know that it definitely was, but I was thinking of something slightly more similar to the Maserati Quattroporte of the period in its looks. I'm probably wrong though and annoyingly, I can't find a clip anywhere in cyberspace that shows the scene in the 1st series where Dr Jack Kerruish (Whately) comes into view in the car in question.
