The regulator is open circuit. The contacts on the regulator (that's the one above the A1 and A terminals) connect D and F when they are made (when the armature is released), so everything else seems to be working. Clean that adjustable contact, reset the gap to 15 thou and try again.

Cheers Pete, that makes perfect sense once explained. I should have grasped it really :oops: I'll give it another clean to the regulator points and check gap tomorrow night then....fingers crossed :) I'll be sure to let you know how it goes.
