I did as much preparation as I could before I sent it off to the paintshop to have both sides painted. I have had to fit the lights as I have to drive it the 3 miles to the paint shop.

Replacement doors were painted off the car.

Slam panel will also get a fresh coat of paint.

Four days later I got the car back.

Spent a dayy taking off the two duff doors and fitting the replacements, then we refitted the glass, door handles, body trim, etc.

Looks better than when it left the factory.... :D
Landrovers and Welding go together like Bread and Butter. And in the wet they are about as structurally sound

It is wonderful to see these cars being preserved.
I had a university friend who drove a black one in New Zealand. There, there was a special black or silver edition called the Princess R with the two-litre engine and manual or automatic transmission. This particular one was automatic and I remember it as very refined in its day and possessed of quite good performance.
