cambelt

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

I think I'd change it if it's nine years old, irrespective of the mileage.

Every 50-60k or 6 years if I were you - so in a word, NOW!

I had a Transit cam-belt snap in the middle of Poland a few years ago, did quite a bit of damage..... It'd been changed not long before, but they didn't do the tensioner, and that let go, so I'd advise doing the lot.
Some people are like Slinkies - they serve no useful purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them downstairs.

Change it now for peace of mind, I had one go on a 95 Transit doing 70, needless to say it made a hell of a mess, Ford weren't best impressed either, it was only 6 months old!

Didnt some of the ford diesels have two belts and a very bizarre method of changing them with certain waiting times.
