new UK Top Gear

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

It had better be a cut above the christmas special or they will be losing alot of viewers!

Based on the Xmas special, they've already lost a load. Sadly there's a dearth of decent programming nowadays, especially with the re-emergence of Boring Brother (damn you Five!) so I'll probably still watch it.
…that's why Allegro will look as good 5 years from now as it does today.

You can see James May disappearing from TG soon. He has written 12 books in the
last 10 years and has finally got his own show and book franchise with Man Lab.
The ideas he and his pet Engineer come up with a genius of the highest order.

About the destruction. One mans Hillman Imp is another mans Hispano Suiza and those
cars they took to India were at the very top of each value so its a shame they had to
be left to rot in the Himalayas but ho-hum, they have been getting plenty of stick on
the web about it, hopefully they will listen.

TG needs to inspire like it used to even a series ago. Its always better when its just a
film crew and three mates on an adventure.

Surprisingly, I found myself enjoying the American version this evening. They did a challenge across Death Valley in old 4x4s towing small caravans (which obviously got wrecked in childish ways), that was on a par with some of the older UK TG challenges.

He said they had filmed fluffy rabbits and sensible cars to keep the press happy but what they actually filmed was Lamborghini's, Aeroplanes going round the TG track etc, That was the general spin of it I think. I enjoyed it I must be honest, Fair play to Noble for replacing the car for what was, lets face it, mechanical failure beyond their control. Nice to see it back but then I have always been a big TG fan :D

I enjoyed it too. Nothing too forced about it and I would guess that the jeopardy faced by that Noble was anything but false, though the plate did appear to have been cut like that for effect....

That was 100x better than the xmas special.
So which of the 3 would you have? Noble, McLaren or Lamborghini?

The Lambo definitely looks best but it would almost certainly be the McLaren for me for pure nerd value.
