I'm Collecting this tomorow..........

#1 Post by MG Mal »

I was recently informed about a couple who had a metro they were looking to sell.

And, that they would only sell it to some one who would ensure that it would'nt be stripped and sold for parts.

So, I viewed the car today, paid for it, and will be collecting tomorow. :D

A few pics to wet your whistles.

That is a solid looking metro :) what's it like behind the arch trims?
I'm always amazed when i see one about, almost all of them seem to have been stripped by the mini boys or died with terminal tin worm.

Lovely Mal, I had a number of Metro's when I was younger and have a major soft spot for them. When you get it can I be taken for a spin sometime?

I'll give you the nod Welshie, once it's back on the road.

I have another like this one, a Targa Red over Grey B Plate with 25k on the clock and all original.

I was never a fan of the Metro until I owned an MG turbo. I loved that car and really regret selling it.

All in all not too bad for three years outside under a car cover.
Need to sort out the Carb, and replace the solonoid (early car seperate starter and solonoid).

Good purchase, I do like. Particularly the dial layout on the dash, they got it so right on mets, maestros and montys. One thing I disliked on the tubs was the harshness of the turbo. Fast ,yes but..... Bit of a Marmite thing?
Good luck 8-)
