Why is it...

#1 Post by mach1rob »

when you're not looking to buy, cars you want are everywhere and you're spoilt for choice, yet when you have cash in your pocket and actively looking, there's bugger all about???

There is absolutely nothing jumping out at me screaming buy me, and hasn't been for the past month, yet before August I wanted nigh on everything for sale

Indeed! The only answer is to buy cars that you don't want, when you don't want them, with money that you haven't got. This hasn't failed me yet.

A hard man to please and one on a budget! If money was no object I have a shortlist of 4 or 5, but there is not a great deal out there currently that is floating my boat. Sods law states that if I buy something that is just 'OK' then as soon as I've got it my ideal car will turn up!

Ahhhhh, the million pound question!

I don't mind the old Rovers, but the wife isn't as keen, of course old Fords hit the spot, but I refuse to pay stupid money for one, and alas most are stupid money. MGBs are OK, but they're common as, and as much as I like V8s etc when I wear the sensible trousers I realise just how much fuel they use, another reason why Cortina, MGB Rover 2000 make sense.

Oh, I know this feeling so well. Another thing that always happens is when you have money and you buy some things and then you start thinking you need to stop spending for a bit and then you get an avalanche of bills and other things you can't escape from paying. That's my most hated one. Just when I think I've earned enough money to stop worrying for a bit, all the bills arrive, all the flights need to be changed, holiday rentals need to be booked, I get medical issues, doctors need paying, I need to go food shopping.... When is this ever gonna end?!?!?!?!?

If you don't mind importing, try across the St Georges Channel, there's a lot of irish and UK ex pat classics over here. Try www.donedeal.ie.
